Parallel Session 4.4: With Affordable Housing and Energy
Aaron is the Customer & Member Manager of both OREC and CoEnergy Co-operative. He is responsible for member & investor management, project development, and overall operations of both co-operatives. Born and raised in Ottawa, Aaron is passionate about the role that the cooperative model can play in addressing climate, social, and economic challenges and inequities. Aaron has a bachelor’s degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Community Development.
The Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-operative (OREC) was formed in 2010, and has become one of the largest renewable energy co-operatives in Canada. Its membership is composed of individuals living across the province of Ontario, while its portfolio comprises 21 solar PV projects, and 2 wind turbines, with a total generating capacity of 6.3 MW. OREC is proud to offer individuals the chance to invest directly in the renewable energy transition in Ontario and work with various organizations to realize sustainability and economic goals.
