Registration is now open for Congress

The Congress will be a hybrid event, taking place both in person in Seoul, and online. For participants attending Congress online, all sessions will be broadcast live in the Korean time zone (GMT+9). For those who cannot attend during the scheduled times, all the sessions will be recorded and made available online via the Congress online platform for viewing at a later time.

International Youth Day: raising voices to show how cooperatives make a difference

The world marked International Youth Day on 12 August, to highlight the challenges facing young people – and campaigners are highlighting the benefits of working together through cooperatives. The cooperative model – which brings the benefits of mutual support, economic ownership and autonomy at work – is uniquely placed to help young people negotiate their uncertain future of work.

“In less than five months, I will be travelling to Seoul, Republic of Korea, for the 33rd World Cooperative Congress. For the first time, our Congress will be a hybrid event—the cooperative movement will come together in person, or online from their home countries, from 1-3 December. This promises to be an exciting time for all of us, as the Congress will be accessible to many more people than ever before.”

ILO’s Guy Ryder talks cooperatives ahead of Congress

ILO Director-General Guy Ryder took the time to share with us his vision for continued partnerships between ILO and the cooperative movement leading up to Congress. He also extended the call for stronger collaboration in 2022, starting with the 110th International Labor Conference, where cooperatives and the social solidarity economy will play leading roles, signalling a global recognition of their value within the world of work.

NINE MORE SPEAKERS JOIN WORLD COOPERATIVE CONGRESS LINE-UP!

Nine more names from eight countries have been announced for the ICA World Cooperative Congress in December. The global hybrid event, which will be held online and in Seoul, Republic of Korea, will feature cooperative professionals, specialists and activists, who will take part in sessions on ‘Examining’, ‘Strengthening’, ‘Committing to’ and ‘Living’ our Cooperative Identity.
